Ben Kho is known as one of the most talented lapidaries (a cutter, polisher, or engraver of precious stones) in the world today. As a teenager, his love for gems started when he began mining rubies and sapphires in Cambodia and transforming them into finished gemstones.
In 1988, he started his gemstone business and has since been recognized in numerous jewelry magazines and has been honored with 25 Spectrum Cutting Edge Awards; the Spectrum Awards are sponsored by the American Gem Trade Association and are considered the benchmark for design excellence in the world of colored gemstones and cultured pearls. Because of his expertise, Ben is frequently commissioned by collectors for custom designs and sought after by mine owners to advise them on their most valuable finds.
